... The title of this blog has to do with a Will Bruder quote I heard while attending the University of Arizona College of Architecture, Planning and Landscape Architecture (CAPLA) during the Fall of 1999 - "Learn to master the trash can and you might become something" - It really resonated with me and has stuck with me to this day. I suppose for me the concept hit hard that although you can discard an idea, concept, sketch, design, whatever for a certain project you may be able to revisit it at a later date under different circumstances - In other words designs never die, they evolve, they hibernate, they circle-back but they never die...Or maybe he was just telling us to quit our ideas of becoming Architects and to go live in a public park somewhere; which, given the current state of the industry probably would not have been such a bad idea...

That is what this Blog will be for me - With over a decade in the industry I have come to realize that what I thought I would be doing on a daily basis and what I actually do are pretty darn different - BUT - I still have ideas, I still have hopes and I still have my creativity; So, I figured this would be a good outlet...I will share my thoughts on work and the industry as well as whatever moments of creativity I can muster - And, yes, at the direction of my Wife I will keep the swearing to an absolute minimum.

Cheers...B.

MORE BEARS MINIMALIST SWAG:

... Leading up to the Super Bowl two weeks ago Wilson released a series of minimalist artwork images based on memorable moments in past Super Bowls...Yes, I know I have already posted some similar sports related minimalist stuff recently - But I have a few more of these so you are just going to have to suck it up for a few posts.

Anyway, here is my favorite (...for obvious reasons) - It depicts William "The Refrigerator" Perry's goal line touchdown in Super Bowl XX - I suppose that was a pretty memorable moment; well for Bears fans anyway:

Oh, Fridge...You complete me...Well, if Sweetness would have scored a Touchdown in Super Bowl XX too you would probably complete me more but beggars really cannot be choosers can they?

Here are the rest of #TheDukeDozen - Enjoy:

What?

I told you that 2014 was the Year of Minimalist Sports Themed Artwork...

THE SEAHAWKS VS. THE BRONCOS:

... Welcome to Super Bowl Sunday - America's excuse to sit around, eat garbage and watch overpaid fat people dressed in spandex slam-up against each other across an imaginary line while fighting over possession of an oblong ball wrapped in pig skin...And then there is the Halftime Show - Sheesh...

Just kidding.

... As you know, I love Football, I love the Chicago Bears - AND - Yes, I love the Super Bowl...And today I am going to sit around, eat garbage and watch overpaid fat people dressed in spandex slam-up against each other across an imaginary line while fighting over possession of an oblong ball wrapped in pig skin...And I will also watch the Halftime Show - But first, I want to leave you with the link below - NY Daily News put a gallery up this past week with pictures of every Super Bowl Ticket to date...Some of these are pretty sharp - Ahem, how about Super Bowl XX - Am I right, come on, am I right???

So, here is the link:

... What I find crazy is the average ticket prices from Super Bowl I to Super Bowl XLVII (...this year's average ticket price for Super Bowl XLVIII has not yet been determined) - From $10.00 in 1967 to $1,200.00 in 2013...That is some serious inflation worthy of a Pete Carroll Tycoon *.gif like this:
